Canada Express Entry draw on June 25th – cutoff drops by 9 points to 442

A new draw was held by the Government of Canada on June 25th, 2018, issuing ITAs to 3,750 candidates in the Express Entry pool.

This draw came in quick succession to the previous draw that was held on June 13th.

Usually the draws happen on Wednesday, so the timing of this one was a bit of a surprise to a lot of people.

The CRS score cut-off this time is 442 points, having dropped 9 points from the previous cutoff of 451 points. Now it’s inevitable that draws that happen so close to each other will lead to a drop in cutoff.

Tie breakers usually apply in these draws since its very likely that multiple people have 442 points. The candidate with the oldest profile makes it through in such a scenario.

For this reason, we can’t stress enough that our clients enter the Express Entry pool as soon as possible. You are just wasting the opportunity otherwise.

The Express Entry pool is highly competitive in the CRS 420-460 points range. So, if you want to immigrate to the new land of the free, please enter the pool as soon as you can. We can’t stress this enough. You are just wasting the opportunity otherwise. You can work on improving your score in parallel if you need to.

IRCC still has a big immigration quota to fill for 2018 since Canada has increased the number of Express Entry candidates it plans to accept in 2018-2020 to 250,000.

There are many ways of improving your standing in the Express Entry pool. There are also PNP options that can work for you, depending on your profile.
